New feature is, Google or any other search engine crawl every post and give you a limited time per depth level. If a post is 12 pages long and other is 20 pages long so Google will not bother to go to 20th for the further content. It’s a good thing that people are staying on your website and clicking next and previous but still those pages are canonical posts. In other words, they are less important as main page. So, apparently you are having a specific part on first page but you are providing the Google the complete content so it should know, what exactly the post is about? By this way, Google will bring all relevant visitors to your first page at least and if that user is real user i mean if it’s not a robot so the user will start reading that post with next button etc. I hope this makes sense?
